this is a sk8 the infinity alternative universe zine.

the zine will be divided into three main au sections:
fantasy (royal, magic, etc)
sci-fi (space, steampunk, supernatural, etc)
contemporary/modern (college, different sports, cafe, etc)
the examples are of course only a few of the many, many aus out there! our contributors will create work that will focus on characters and interactions in these settings, exploring the cast of sk8 in unexpected and fun ways!

Q & A
q: what aus are going to be featured in the zine?
a: we are currently in the process of looking through the interest check and compiling all the aus that have been requested. aus like fantasy, various sports, and crossovers are in very high demand, and therefore likely to be a part of the finished product. we will keep you posted about a more detailed list of aus that will be featured in the zine!
q: is the zine for charity or profit?
a: the zine is 50/50 for charity and profit. the charity will be chosen once the mod team is fully assembled.
q: are minors allowed to contribute?
a: of course! we encourage anyone interested in the project to apply as contributor, regardless of age.
due to legal restrictions, minors will not recieve compensation in form of money.
q: what are you looking for in contributor apps?
a: we are mainly looking at how the characters are portrayed or written. there will also be a slot to pitch your idea and tell us about what aus you're interested to create for. surprise us!
q: what are the requirements for contributors?
a: for artists: at least one piece that is sk8 related. at least one piece with a full background (not just gradient/one color). we request full-color and finished works that display your skill and show your style.
for writers: at least one finished work between 500 and 2k words. at least one sk8 related work. additionally, you may show excerpts of longer works. make sure these snippets are between 500 and 2k words.
RULES
SK8 AU Zine is a SFW (safe for work) ship and gen zine. This means the overall focus of the project is to portray both platonic and romantic relationships between the characters in various alternative universe settings.
General content rules:
All applicants are expected to have read and understood the rules before filling out the contributor application forms.
All final work must be SFW.
We expect quality content that corresponds to the portfolio sent in during the application process. All visual art has to be created following the specifications for size, format, and color format.
Content containing hate speech, slurs, discrimination, etc. is not allowed.
Rules around ships and ship content:
The zine will focus on Renga (Reki/Langa), Matchablossom (Joe/Cherry), and Aitada (Adam/Tadashi) in terms of ships; there are plans for ship bundles in the merch department.
All ships have to be depicted in a SFW way.
Minor/adult ships are not allowed.
Pieces focusing on the platonic relationship between minors and adults are of course welcome.
Any content concerning Miya must be platonic.
There has been a lot of discussion regarding ships in the SK8 fandom, and we do not wish to engage in any discourse. The decisions regarding the ships in this zine are final, and we hope for everyone to respect our choices. We reserve the right to not answer certain questions regarding ships.
